I bought this plant, on the right , at Rona. It was labeled as a "Frosted Winter Fern" .. I think the botanical name is "SELAGINELLA MARTENSII FROSTY" .. it requires humidity whcih I supply with sprizting ? .. but I just wonder if anyone else has experience with this as a house plant and any tips appreciated !

Seleginella
by: Nori Lane Bishop

I looked up your Seleginella in a Houseplants Encyclopedia, and it says S. Martensii is native to Mexico. In general, Seleginella species want heat, shade to partial shade, plenty of water, high humidity, and like to dry out a bit in between waterings.
I have no experience with this plant, but I have others that like similar conditions, and they're mostly in smallish pots, and do best in unglazed terra cotta, so they dry out in a couple of days, which they seem to appreciate, as long as they get watered again as soon as they're about completely dry. I mist them every few days or every other day, according to the weather.
Good luck! It's a gorgeous plant.
