Doug says that many of the leafy vegetables can be grown in the shade in the South. They'll do fine.
The problem you don't tell me is how much shade do you have? If you're under Georgia pine trees, then not much is going to grow. If you have dappled shade then leaf vegetables (lettuce etc) might do OK for you. If you have light shade for a few hours a day, then you're probably going to be fine with most things.
So it mostly depends on how much shade you have.
