circles of long thicker grass

by Lisa
(Whitby, Ontario)

When we resodded our front lawn we noticed the following year that there was circles all over the lawn. These were different kinds of grass we assumed it looks awful. I cut the grass when it needs it as you can really notice the difference in the grasses. It looks like a ufo has landed. Someone said that it is crabgrass, I have tried cutting it out put it is very strong. is this the best method.

Doug says that it sounds like Timothy or other barnyard grass. (It isn't crabgrass) Dig it out. Fill hole with topsoil/compost mix and reseed that area.
