Compost Accelerator
This is advertised as a great blend of bacteria and fungi to make your compost pile activate very quickly. Advertising is a wonderful thing. ;-)
It Works If...
These products work if the compost is being properly made i.e. it is the right sized pile and composed of the right material. Mind you, if you've made your compost pile properly, then it will work very well without much else being added.
These products will not magically transform a poorly made compost pile into a smoking pile of garden gold.
Just Add Good Soil
Having said that, by far the easiest way to get a compost started is to add good garden soil to the pile. If you pick a shovel of woodland soil or even from a good organic garden (one that has not had a lot of chemicals applied) youll get a full range of bacteria and fungi that will do the same thing as an expensive product.
I note the research says that soil from under trees is excellent as well if you dont rake all the leaves up.
Worm Compost Accelerator
Worm compost is one of the better sources of compost accelerator and a bag of this (or from your own bin) will provide all the bacteria and fungi youll need to get a great compost going.
So you can buy it or you can make your own with a shovel.
