Compost thoughts

My neighbor won't use compost, says it can make the soil too acidic. I disagree, told him the plants take what nutrients they need - when they need it from compost, unlike chemical fertilizer that gives the plants a blast of good stuff! My gardens don't just grow - they are lush and thrive on compost only! what are your thoughts on this?

Doug says that some people don't get it. Don't worry about your neighbor - just enjoy your own garden because the proof is in the pudding (your garden). For the record, properly made compost is pH neutral no matter what the originating material was. So your neighbor is wrong. Just go on with making compost properly and your garden is going to be fine.:-)
