crumbly raspberries

Doug, Great information, thanks. One question about my raspberries and I'll go back to more reading--Why do my berries come apart into seeds in my hand when they are picked? This happen on my ever-bearing plants only and usually on the spring crop. Any ideas on what I'm neglecting? Have composted and cleaned-up, but notice it is happening with the first few berries I've just picked. I live on the coast north of Vancouver, BC,Canada. Thanks for any infornmation. Rita Hassett

Doug says berry crumbing is usually genetics. Some varieties crumble more than others. So your fall bloomers crumble in the spring crop and you get to lick your fingers a lot. :-)
