Daffodils taking a rest

My friend is trying to tell me his local nursery told him that the daffodils he'd bought there would flower for two years and then take a break and would come up again later.

Finding this hard to believe, I'd thought next season's flower is already growing inside the bulb that was flowering.

I think his daffodil's name was something like Golden Bronze.

Doug says that if the bulb is grown properly, it should flower every year. If not, then there's a problem with cultivation of the bulb (always assuming it bloomed the first year after planting)

You don't say where you're gardening so it's hard to help you any further.
