Delayed growth of Green Peppers

by Diana

Our green pepper are not growing well. The plants are green but growing very tall with very few blooms. What can we do to charge them up and get them growing?

Doug says "very tall" means 1) either they aren't getting enough light or 2) you've overfed with nitrogen and they're growing like gangbusters but with few flowers.

Low light - relax and plant them in full sun next year.

High nitrogen - water and soak the area very well for a week to drive the excessive nitrogen down and out of your soil. Then feed with a balanced plant food such as compost or fish emulsion.

Good luck.
