Do Red Twig Dogwoods have thorns?

My last landscaper planted two Red Twig Dogwoods. My new landscaper does not believe they are dogwoods because they have thorns. Have not seen leaves yet. Thank you

Doug says that your second landscaper is right. I don't know of a Cornus with thorns.
