folding leaves on daffodil maintenance

by Kelley
(Garwood NJ)

Northern central NJ, flowers on daffodils are gone. Temp 35 - 70 F.
Can I fold the leaves in half and tie them to get them out of the way, until they turn yellow? Can I first cut them in half and then fold?
Thanks!
Kelley

Doug says that folding is an old trick that works (sort of) but that he doesn't recommend it as something that best for the plants. Let the leaves grow naturally and plant among them.
