Soon to Burst Open
I planted this clematis four years ago when my husband was first diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemo. This was my first clematis. It had a couple of blooms last year for the first time. This year it was bursting with bloom and I was so excited. This is a close up of a tight flower head before bloom. It was so beautiful when it opened!

anemone
The bees just love the anemones and, in their feeding-frenzy, can't wait for them to fully open. Their legs are so covered in pollen they sometimes have trouble flying.

For the bees!
Close ups are the best! As this flower grew I did not know wether it was a weed and should be pulled but I left and low and behold it bloomed into something interesting...The bees love it and it really is growing on me as well... Happy Gardening!

For the bees!
When this plant started growing, I thought it was a weed but left it anyway...and I am sure glad I did because the bees love this one. I am again not sure of the name but I do think it is unusually intriguing.

Bees on White Globe Thistle

bees on globe thistle
This year, we realized that the bees have colonized the roof of my house. My white globe thistle is in the flowerbed right beside where the bees come out of the roof, and they love the flowers. I never walk in the flowerbeds without my camera, and I was glad this day, because i came upon this globe thistle with two bees on it, and managed to capture this picture before they buzzed away.

Hanging Around In Montana
My columbines had heavy flowers and the only way to get a photo was to lay on the ground. I like the way the columbine colors of yellow and pink stand out against the blue of the Montana sky and the green of the old cottonwood tree.

White and Pink Peony

white and pink peony
This peony is on the south side of the house and it blooms spectacularly every year, no matter the weather. This year was no exception, and this big blossom brightened my day on one of the many dreary days we've had this year. I wish I could take a picture of the scent, because it smelled wonderful!
