getting rid of virginia creeper

We have virginia creeper all over our yard. How can we kill it out? It is taking us over

Doug says he has the same darn problem. He's getting serious and not allowing any of the roots to throw shoots. He's whacking them off as often as they send up a shoot. Will only take a year or a bit to get rid of them. The folks who had this garden planted this weed and even protected it over the winter. :-)

I don't recommend this but some folks cut off the vine about six inches above ground level and then paint the stump with full strength Glyphosate (Roundup). This painting is a registered use and will kill off the vine root. It is far more effective than spraying the vine but you do have to use the concentrate, not the ready to spray concentration.

It's an ugly task, to say the least! We had it on the house, growing up brick walls no less. We hacked it off at ground level and pulled it from the house and soaked the base of the root system with Round-up - had to do this every couple of weeks for many months. Finally ended up taking the remainder of the shrubs around the area out, and used stump killer as well. It took almost a year and 1/2 of continuous treatment, cutting root growth to open the woody stem and soaking with Round-up. Good luck to you. If you continue to treat every couple of weeks, you'll eventually win the war, but don't slack off during the battle, or the creeper will shoot new vines and try to grow again.

 how to?

so what is the fastest way to get rid of this stuff? A lady hired me to get rid of the VC because her son has an allergic reaction and id like to hit it one time.And how long does it take to kill this stuff?And do I use that roundup stuff?
