Gift from elderly lady

by Debbie
(Bellaire,Ohio USA)

My mothers friend gave her these plants that were approximatly 2 inches in May or June ,she said she calls them "Touch me nots" and she didn't know what
the real name was. They are now 2 1/2 ft tall, leaves
resemble a pepper plant, flowers open in am when it is cooler & close in afternoon .I hope you can help with
identifying this.
