Unknown Shrub Follow-up

After viewing the photo I posted of the unknown shrub/plant/tree, I think I need to expound somewhat. The photo is a closeup of the leaves and gives the impresiion that the leaves may be large. Actually, they are quite small, ranging in size from an average of about one-half to one inch. They are growing on three branches about one-half inch in diameter. The branches are coming out of the ground from below the soil level. I cannot see the the main trunk.

I have seen a couple shrubs like this in my neighborhood. All, including mine, give the appearance of being just something wild.

Actually, they are quite small, most of them being in the range of one-half inch to one inch. The plant has three branches all coming from the ground below the soil level. I cannot see the main trunk.
