Green Leaves + Tall-->Royal Pauwlonia

This is an Empress or Princess Tree also known as Royal Pawlonia. It is a fast grower that can grow 15" or more in a season, and 60 feet at maturity. In many places it is considered an invasive, aggresive species.

Thanks Anna....I think you nailed it as I did a search for Princess Tree and found some pics that look nearly the exact same as what's in my condo courtyard (again) this year. The kicker...even taller this year. I saw it starting to sprout out from behind a bush the beginning of May '11. It's now (end of August '11) almost 3 stories tall!

That looks like a Princess Tree to me. We live in western NC and we have 2 in our yard. Every year a new one tries to sprout up, and looks just like that (however, considerably shorter as we don't let it get that tall!)
