Datura family

Datura- Jimpson weed or Angels trumpet.

Castor Bean
by: TweakyMonkey

Without looking at the plant itself, I am saying this comes from the Castor Bean plant and the pods are extremely poisonous to every mammal. My niece ate some of the dried pods when she was 3 yrs old, which sent her to Childrens Hospital for a long time. She almost died.

Needless to say, the next day my Dad removed the plant and any sign of it from our property.

Thank you!

Oh thank you! I've had one of these growing in my flower bed and had no idea what it was. It started growing pods and that helped narrow it down.

Datura Plant

I have one of these it is a Datura plant it blooms at night. Very huge beautiful blooms. That is the seed pod if you let it turn brown before you pull it it will produce hundreds of seeds from one pod. you must leave the old flower on it for it to make a pod.The plant is poisonous though. Seems like though it will not hurt animals as they sense some how that it is not good for them.
