... for a lovely rockery there. Plant some alpines, saxifrages, sedums and ericas, and you'll have a bright wee spot there.

Our house stands on the site of an older big house. I guess the builders didn't want the cost of transporting the sandstone blocks away from site.

Moira, your photos show what a tough and optimistic group the Scots are! Keep working at it, and don't try to get it all done at once. Even the dandelions have lovely color, and they're great for the tots' plucking.

Showing this photo on this site has kick-started thoughts of gardening next year. I want flowers, fruit and vegetables. Trouble is, I don't think my garden is big enough for my plans!
