Stumped

It's not any kind of rhubarb I have ever seen. Rhubarbs don't grow from side branches. Each stem comes directly out of the ground.

Not an olive either. These always have long oval leaves to the best of my knowledge.

I'm stumped...Could be many things I might not be familiar with in my northern area, including a weed. Hope someone can help you solve it. Try taking a leaf to a good (all season-permanent) gardening centre or two if nothing else works.

it looks like a rhubarb plant to me. don't know if it is native to Texas, but it is here in Wisconsin
