Lawn Drainage

We have a large 12 month old lawn, which is very wet in patches. The builder / landscaper reckoned we have underground springs that prevents the ground from draining naturally.
Any suggestions for what we should do?

Doug says that underground springs are indeed problems. Your landscaper will be able to set up a drainage system to a bottomless cistern to funnel/channel the water away from the area. The water will go through the drainage pipes to the bottomless cistern where it will drain naturally. You do need some math to figure out the size of the cistern and patterns of the pipes but your landscaper should be able to do that for you.

Or you can create a bog there and enjoy planting and growing that kind of plant. :-)
