March 09 NC, if I plant bulbs now will they sprout this spring?

How long does it take a bulb to eventually sprout and flower. In a month or so, it will be 90 degrees here.
Doug says you don't say what kind of bulb you want to plant. Summer flowering bulbs should be fine. Spring flowering bulbs? If they are alive and were pre-chilled, then you're probably going to see a bloom. If stored over the winter -probably not although they may live if planted and dead if not.
So - sorry but not enough info to really give you a good answer.
As a final though - if you were offered a great deal on bulbs from last year - and are asking if you can get any good from them this spring, I'd suggest you handle the bulbs. If hard, they might live enough to give you flowers next year. If soft - pass, they're dead.
Hope that helps a bit.
