agapanthus? (allium family)

definitely an allium!

i agree its an allium, and its grown as an ornamental on this side of the pond, too. If you look it up, there are probably dozens of varieties and they are all grown as flowers. they can be invasive because each of the little flowers on top turns to a seed and they pop up in the oddest places. They are also called ornamental onions.

Part of the allium family which includes onion and garlic. Native to the USA. Over here, we have it as a garden flower.
