Mistakenly labled as Morden Blush Rose sold at WalMart

by GardenJoy
(Kingston)

I wanted Morden Blush .. this rose is on it's own root stalk .. seems resistant to problems but it is a FLAMING deep fuchsia colour .. way too bright for what I wanted. BUT .. I would like to know what it may be ? All my pictures of this rose are too bright because of the feed back of its colour. So this picture is going to look a bit dull compared to what it looks like .. I swear you could see this rose a mile away ! Could it be a Morden "anything" ?

Looks like...

This looks like one of my roses called 'Don Juan" but mine is a climber. Good luck

Thanks !

Willa ! .. that is amazing you had the same experience ! .. I wonder if it could be some kind of genetic quirk that happens to some of these Mordens .. I'm sure it was the same company that I bought Morden Sunrise from and wow, I love that one .. but this one is a little too bright for what I have going on in that section .. so it probably will go to a friend.
Thanks for the info !

Exactly the same as mine

In 1998 I received a Morden Blush through a reputable Ontario Mail order source. Blooms turned out to be identical to yours - very bright fushia. Color suited the local better than the pale blush would have, so we just laughed and said the thing must have been "really embarrassed"

Thought so too !

Moni .. thanks for your comment/idea .. I thought of Knockout as well .. in fact I saw a garden show with the breeder a few days ago .. and thought maybe ? .. I think I'm going to be giving it away to a friend and I'll ask her how it does next year, to try and nail what it is .. that "hot" colour was just a little too intense for what I have going .. but wow ! you could see it a mile away I'm sure ! haha

Maybe Knock Out Rose?
by: Moni

Perhaps it is one of the Knock Out roses...ie red. I think they are on their own root stock. They get about 3' tall and wide and have multiple flowers.
Does that seem to fit?
