Moving spring flowering bulbs after blooming

Is it ok to dig up daffodils & tulips after they have finished blooming, & while the tops are still green, & move them to a different location in my garden, or should I wait until the tops have turned brown?

Doug says it is better to wait but you can do it after blooming if you're careful. You may very well lose some if you move them immediately after blooming but it depends on how strong the bulb is. And how badly you want to move them early. :-)

I have dug up my tulip and daffodil bulbs just tonite and feel they will survive, but not sure how to dry them out and then I was told to put them into a brown bag until fall when I'll put them back in the new garden I'm making. I didn't wait until the green's had browned but I'm hopeful they will come back.. what do you think?
Thanks for any replies... LW

"do it later"
Great only doesn't mention what wld be better than right after the tulips are done blooming...Later then what?
