Monarda

I agree...Its a monarda (aka beebalm) and its not completely useless...I had a friend who used to harvest the flowers and make a syrup from them, and hummingbirds go nuts for them. Some varieties can be slightly invasive, as they spread by runners. But its excellent for a ground cover!

Good for bees

If it's Monardia then it is certainly not a "weed", if by weed you mean a plant useless in the scheme of things. It's called beebalm because pollinators love it, and it's recommended by groups that support pollinators. I think most of us gardeners are keen to help all pollinators,no?
