Pea planting and split peas
I recently planted Early Alaska Green Peas. I was not aware of how close to plant them and I planted them 3 to 4 inches apart. Will that hurt anything, as far as their groweth?? Also, I read these were used for spit peas? I am just wanting to eat them like a regular english pea?? Are they edible like that?
Doug says that your planting distances are fine. You said "spit" pea but I think you meant "split" pea. Split peas are simply dried peas taken out of the shell. Some varieties dry and split easier than others. You can however eat them green and fresh like any other pea.
Enjoy the peas!
