can grow to 2 ft or more

This weed appeared several years ago when I introduced composted horse manure?A light frost will kill it easily?Vinegar will kill it when sprayed on leaves. When pulled I suspect even a minute root left behind will begin the growing process!. Also, the stem will start growth similar to a tomato stems Has a bushy root mass when pulled and many times the stem will break when I pull it out? Has small 2 mil.yellow button flowers with 5 to 6 3 mil white petals

Galinsoga weed

Your weed is called Galinsoga. That is the genus name also. It is an annual weed that reseeds readily, so if it came in with the manure, you just have to keep it from going to seed to control it. A good mulch would help as it likes light to germinate and it does not like competition from other plants.
It is easy to pull. It should not regrow from part of a root, but pulling plants in the heat of the day so they wilt by night is good weed control practice.
