This is definitely an obedient plant. If you want to test to make sure, there's an easy way (which is where it gets its name): when it flowers, move the single blooms on the stems...they will stay put wherever you put them!

I also have this plant which will reflower if spent tops are trimmed. I thought it was one of the veronice varieties.

Looked it up on the net, and it's also called false dragonhead (physostegia virginiana).
