Pink/mauve flower

by Richard
(Picton, Ontario Canada)

3 to 3/12 feet tall. Flower spike, flowers a pink/mauve colour. Leaves are about 2 to 3 inches long and serrated. Growing in full sun in southwest exposure, Zone 5. Seems to be spreading. We bought the house in January, and much of the garden is a mystery.

I also have this plant which will reflower if spent tops are trimmed. I thought it was one of the veronice varieties.

Thanks

Thanks Mary:

Looked it up on the net, and it's also called false dragonhead (physostegia virginiana).
