Here's a timely post on planting bulbs - this is a rule of thumb kind of video post. If you really need more help than this - around timing, problems etc with planting, let me suggest you check out this page about planting bulbs.

In the meantime check out my planting bulbs rules of thumb video

Elena - these aren't bulbs nor lilies. They are Hemerocallis (common name daylily) and are dead tough hardy.

I have already planted them but skeptical about how they will bloom. Not sure if there is a right positioning method for tuberous/rhizome plants. I want them facing out toward the road.

Dear Doug,
I'm so glad that you wrote about the "proper" positioning of bulbs. I started gardening when I was 4 or 5, and just threw the bulbs in the holes. They came up fine. Since I'm older and have been reading that the bulbs must be placed just so, I have been stressed out at bulb planting time when before I had so much fun. So this year I get to relax, and I bought an auger! I can't wait to get going.
