Potted Tulip Care in South

by Desine
(Houston, Texas)

I was given a tulip 'plant' for Mother's Day. It is planted in an aluminum container. I live in the Texas gulf coast area and was wondering how to care for it.

Doug says toss it away or give it to a berserker gardener. Tulips need 14-16 weeks of less than 40F temperatures to get them to bloom again. The odds of you doing that in the Gulf Coast area of Texas are slim to none. :-) Even the beserker gardener will have problems getting it to rebloom.

That's one advantage we northern gardeners have over you southern types. :-)
