pulled out tulip stems and leaves

I didn't know what to do with my tulips after they were done blooming. So I pulled out the stems, along with the leaves. Does this mean I killed my tulips?
Doug says he doesn't know. If you pulled up the bulbs along with the stems and leaves - then yes. If the stems and leaves broke away from the bulbs, then you didn't kill the bulbs.
But if you pulled them up green, then you're not likely to see flowers next year. Read the how-to-grow tulip articles for more details on how to grow this plant.
If you pulled the dead yellowing leaves and stems away, and didn't disturb the bulbs, you're fine.
Next time, use a good pruning shear to cut them off.
