Just so you know, this can be a very invasive plant and hard to get rid of at least in Michigan. Just grow it in an area that you don't mind it creeping as it spreas by its "spidery root system"

Thank you so much for identifying this one, which I couldn't find in books! It was the plant in our garden that was most popular with bees, and flowered for months. I have found little new sprouts of it all over the place, which I plan to transplant in the spring.

I also have this plant as well as the variety that has the yellow leaves, blue flowers. Anyone know the name of the yellow variety.

Yes! It is spiderwort! Comes in blue, fuchia and white.
