Your phlox

Yes, it's definitely phlox, and while it reseeds easily, the progeny don't come true to colour, and you'll end up eventually with a nondescript pink, so it's a good idea to weed out the seedlings, and rely on divisions of the original plant for propagation.

For Blaine - Sweet William is a Dianthus species, and the stem-leaf construction is different, as well as the flower petals. And if by 'Martha Washington' you mean Martha Washington's Plume, everything (stems, leaves, and flower shape) is different! The botanical name for Martha Washington's Plume is Filipendula venustra rubra, and it's a lovely flower like a giant Astilbe (the flower is definitely a plume).
Hope that's not all too confusing! :-)

I'm never sure which is which, but it's either Sweet William or Martha Washington. At 4½ - 5 feet it couldn't be phlox?
Definitely phlox

They reseed liberally ALL over, but can be pulled up easily. The butterflies and hummingbirds LOVE them!
Perennial Phlox

It looks like Phlox, easy to transplant and will thicken/multiply quickly. Beautiful long lasting flowers in a variety of colors/variations
