seed orientation

With big seeds like broad beans ( I sow edge on ) and runner beans ( vertically ) but the seeds are not symmetrical should the bulbous bit be the deepest bit or the most superficial for best results ?

Thank you

Jim

Doug says seeds don't much care about their orientation on planting. The radicle (first root) will simply turn the seed in the right direction and it will grow. So if it makes you happy to keep doing this - have fun. But it's way too much work for me.

As a note - farmers don't orient seed, Mother Nature doesn't orient seed and neither do I. :-)
