Knot weed kill it and quickly

Impatiens
by: Norm

I recommend looking at the Imaptiens family, specifically Himalayan balsam aka Touch-me-not. This plant was placed under the Weed Control Act of Alberta just this year because it is considered to be a serious threat for our natural riparian areas (creeks & rivers). If it is Himalayan balsam, it is now a Prohibited noxious weed and is required to be destroyed. Check out the Alberta Invasive Plants Council website or contact Alberta Agriculture or your local Agricultural Fieldman if you live in a rural area.

Persian Shield Plant
by: Mary

It looks to me like Persian Shield(Strobilanthes Dyeranus) I have some in my flower bed and it looks like the very same thing. It is a beautiful plant. I have some in shade and some in partial shade I commented on your earlier post then I noticed you had posted a newer one. Looks like it has grown some. Mine are much more of a royal purple I think it may have something to do with the climate, or the sun as I keep mine in shade. Texas is extremely hot so it would burn the leaves here in the sun. It is a deep rich maroon color right now.
