Snowball Shrub Browning

After my snowball was finished blooming I pruned it. New growth started to come and now there are alot of small black eggs on the new stem and leaves. I have sprayed with insecticide soap but now the tips of the new growth are brown. The eggs I am sure are ant eggs. because every other leaf I see a tiny ant there. Help!!!! Thanks Doug.No picture because no camera.

Doug says they aren't ant eggs. Ants lay their eggs underground. The leaves are brown because you mixed up the soap-spray too concentrated and burned the new growth.

Best advice, ignore the small eggs. They could be any number of things, from real eggs to insect manure.

The predator bugs will get them.

Those particular bugs lining your snowball are aphids. There's a difference between eggs and these small creatures. Knock them off with a strong jet of water. They won't crawl back up.

I have the same problem with liittle black bugs attaching themselves to the tips of the new growth on my snowball shrub. They are actually growing right down the stem. I took off a leave and inspected them more closely. They do move and they have little wings. I have black ants crawling all over the bush, so I thought they were ants too. I also see some flys that look like ants-kind of greeny-yellowish color.
