tall 5-part leaf

This large plant has shown up in my partly sun/shade garden, growing in/among my lilac bush. Its very tall, sitting at about 3-4 feet now. I don't see any sign of flowers, seeds, pods, fruit of any kind. Only leaves.

I appreciate your help:)

I thought it was rodgersia which can get tall but I'm not positive.

Thank You!

OMG I just googled and you're right! It will be huge! I do have a large backyard (although this is right up beside the house). Do you think I'd be able to transplant it into a open area and have it grow? Thanks so much for eveyone's help!

It's an Aesculus (conker or chestnut tree) I think. I'd dig it out before it gets huge.

It doesn't appear to be Aralia

I Googled for images of Aralia and I don't see any there that match what I've got. My leaves have a very pronouned saw-toothed edge. You're right--it is large and tropical looking:)

Looks like an Aralia to me. When in a good location, they produce seed pods that the birds eat and leave everywhere, but it can be a great addition if you're going to a tropical effect.

No, its not a vine. Its growing on a relatively sturdy stalk (about 1/2-1").

virginia creeper?

Is it a vine? Looks like virginia creeper - a vine with gorgeous fall foliage.
