Transplanting roses late in season

I would like to move a rose bush and it has already started to leaf out. It is the middle of May and I don't want to kill it. Can I do that if I water it a lot?

Doug says that if you spray it with an anti-desiccant, you'll be able to move it if you do it carefully. If you don't spray it, then it may be too late to do it with a large chance of success.

A good garden center will have anti-desiccants.

There's a wonderful video on YouTube that shows an easy way to move roses.

The guy from Ashdown Roses Ltd. even looks and sounds a bit like Doug. =:)
