Elliptical tree leaf with serrated edges

Hi! The best way to help identify this tree would be with some more information. Are the leaves single or compound? Are they alternating or do they sit right across from each other? Are they fuzzy or smooth? Is this the color in the fall or is it only green during the growing season? Some information on the tree, too: size, shape, flowers and or berries, etc. Right now my best guess would be some sort of cherry tree. If you can give some more information it would really help. Thanks!
