Tulip care after blooming

by Gulia

We planted our tulips in the end of October. The folliage appeared in the end of Feb this year. They bloomed in March and only once with little flowers. Now we've got only green stems and folliage left. Will they bloom again this Summer and what we need to do to achieve it ? Please help me.

Doug says that they will not bloom again this year - tulips are a once a year kind of flower. And nothing you're going to do will make 'em do it. Sorry to have to tell you this.

TULIPS in OCTOBER
by: LDUNNE

I dug my bulbs out of the ground after they blossomed and whithered this year, and I stuck them in a ziplock bag in the door of my fridge. Guess what... Spring has sprung, the grass is green but who would know it's Halloween. I was pulling my mustard bottle out of the door the other day, and low and behold, I saw green, and I don't mean fungus. ( I am really a rather obsessive compulsive cleaner.) This was a fun surprise. I have Tulips growing on my Kitchen table now. I imagine they will blossom, after all, it only takes wintering for Tulips to grow, and I guess my bulbs had a mild winter in my fridge door.
