Sahde Garden
by: Jocelyn

My garden peaks in early spring due to shade and dryness of the sandy soil. During the summer I have 4 different hostas that bloom at different times, several ferns in different shades of green and varied leaf shapes. Pulmonarias with early blooms and variegated foliage, Trilliums, heucheras, Geranium 'Samobar' and my beloved 'Crimson Queen' Japanese maple. Chelone blooms in fall and many leaves change colour. Shade gardens tend to be more subtle than sun gardens. Good luck.

shady spot

I am just starting a garden in the shady section of my property. I love these flowers. There seems to be a lot of plants with color for sun but not too many for the shade. Did you have the same trouble?
