Virginia Creeper as ground cover.

I have a boulevard between my front sidewalk and the street that gets salt in the Winter and sun with foot traffic in the Summer. I've tried planting all sorts of "hardy" plants to cover it. Is planting Virginia Creeper worth my trouble and risk? Thank you.

Doug says that foot traffic will damage the vine. Or people will start avoiding it but generally speaking, it will thrive as a very aggressive ground cover if not walked on extensively.

I will give it a try this Spring. Most of the foot traffic is people getting in and out of their cars. I really appreciate your response. Thank you, again.
