virginia creeper near apple tree

we have just planted a v creeper near an apple tree will the roots of the v creeper damage the apple tree roots

Doug says he assumes you mean Virginia Creeper - and no, the roots of this plant will not harm the roots of the apple tree. Having said that, the vine will climb up into the tree and try to choke the life out of the tree-top. And can be very successful at it as well. (it overgrows the leaves and shades them out killing the branches one by one)
