whitish flowers on elongated broad leaves
by: Anonymous

It is a crinum. They come in varying shades of white to pink, some with stripes. The clumps can be divided into individual bulbs for propagation but they like to be crowded to bloom well. They are very low maintainance plants and can be found in many very old country gardens.

This plant looks a lot like an amaryllis. I have seen some advertised for zones as warm as yours. The appearance of the flower stalks and the way the flowers bloom remind me of our indoor amaryllis.
