wrong soil

When we put our lawn in they got me to put in Pebble dirt, which is 1/2 dirt and 1/2 pea gravel. The dirt has washed away in some places and grass not growing well. Question: Can I just put in top soil over the grass and resead it? Will the old grass come on up through the new top soil?

Doug says he'd put topsoil on top of whatever mix this is and then reseed. It depends how much soil you put on whether the existing grass will come through.

So topsoil and grass seed again. :-)
