We have these flowers growing wild in Southern Ontario, in Prince Edward County.

Ligularia

Your ligularia is the species clivorum, I think; the cultivar usually sold is named 'Desdemona'.

Definitely Ligularia

Not sure which cultivar this is, but definitely a Ligularia. The most commonly grown of this plant is "The Rocket" that has spikes of flowers rather than the daisy-like blooms of this variety. They love shade, but very moisture tolerant and long-lived.
