In the UK this commonly grows wild on waste ground. It has been used historically as a medicinal herb.

Im my mountain wilderness home we had hundreds of these. Indian toilet paper, mullein. Soft big leaves. We rendered the flora for an ear remedy and made tea from leaves for colds.

I just remembered the name of the plant you had a pretty picture posted.... it is called MULLEN.

This is a plant that grew prolifically in our cow pasture as a kid....... we always called it Indian Tobacco but I don't know. Never saw it anywhere else but we still chop it down and call it a weed here in Minnesota!
